Hi, I'm Mark.
I'm a private Economics tutor with twenty years of experience in education. I work one-to-one with students who want more than just a good grade — they want to understand, to grow, and to carry that understanding forward into their lives.
Great results are the starting point. What I really care about is inspiring the kind of transformation that turns potential into amazing.

I studied Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics at the University of Warwick, graduating with First Class Honours. I spent two years working as an actuarial consultant before training as a maths teacher — and then moving into economics, the subject I'd loved since I was a student myself.
I've spent almost twenty years in the classroom, including twelve years as Head of Economics at a leading independent school. I also have many years of senior examining experience, so I know how to give strategic feedback that helps students maximise their progress. Eventually I moved into full-time private tuition, and I haven't looked back.
Today I work with students all over the world — online, one-to-one. I'm based between the UK and Spain, and I teach across time zones. Whether a student is in London, Monaco, Kazakhstan, New York or anywhere else, the setup is the same: it's just us, the subject, and the shared goal of making economics amazing.
"I want to be the teacher that students remember as the one who believed in them."
Any student can memorise a definition. I want mine to understand the ideas deeply enough to explain them in their own words, apply them to new situations, and see economics in the world around them. The grades follow naturally from that.
Many students arrive feeling unsure of themselves. Often they just need someone who believes in them and shows them a clear path forward. I help students develop the structured thinking and exam technique that turns "I think I understand it" into "I know I can do this."
AQA, Edexcel, International A-Levels, OCR, IB — I've taught them all. With many years of senior examining experience, I have first-hand insight into how answers are marked and what separates a good response from a great one. That perspective shapes every lesson I teach.
Personal statements, university preparation, interview practice, mindset coaching. Economics is a starting point, but I care about helping young people develop the skills and self-belief that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
